During their June 7, 2012 meeting, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized Mason Lord, who recently completed eighth grade at Riverwatch Middle School. Mason was invited to present a speech on leadership at the county commission meeting, and was then presented with a Resolution from the board for his outstanding leadership and community involvement.
Among the accomplishments highlighted in the Resolution was Mason’s receipt of the Georgia Association of Student Councils (GASC) Middle School Member of the Year Award. Mason was given the opportunity to present his speech on leadership at the GASC convention, which earned him first place recognition. While attending Riverwatch Middle School, Mason was an honor roll student, active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, competed in track and was elected to serve as school president for the 2011-2012 school year.
“Mason will soon be entering Lambert High School where he will continue to set the example and be an inspiration for all of his peers,” District 2 Commissioner Brian R. Tam read from the Resolution.
